Ransome Seam Welder

Ransome seam welders are built at their state of the art facility located in Arcade NY, USA. Ransome seamers are designed in standard sizes from 3 feet to 12 foot in welding length. The Ransome seamer design comes with precise travel car location and PLC weld controller. This allows full control of the welding automation seam welding process during the complete weld seam joining application. Ransome manufactures custom seam welders as well as the standard models for all part requirements. Ransome redesigned their seam welders to state of the art controller and carriage travel for smooth accurate seam welding applications.

Webb Seam Welders

The Webb Corp has been building seam welders in the USA for well over 50 years. Webb has an older industrial beefy style for the roughest seam welding environments. The Webb sub arc seam welder models are known for there durable quality and simple design. Webb Black iron seam welders are manufactured in Webb City, MO USA. Webb seamers are perfect for the weld fabrication shop on a budget. Welding shops that are looking for a basic seam welder for general use, Webb Seam Welders are the answer.

Jetline Seamers

Jetline seam welders models were made in California for many years, till they relocated to the Midwest. This is where ITW contracts other companies to build the Jetline seamer frame and side beam once built themselves. Jetline Engineering at one time controlled the whole manufacturing process of the seam welding machine system. That ended years ago and now Miller builds the controls and other welding enhancement equipment. The Jetline weld seamers are well built, yet Jetline lacks the superior customer service and support that once made Jetline the finest seam welder design on the market. ITW is slowly moving Jetline into the Miller Electric line of automated welding equipment.

Seam Welder Types - Weld Seamers Designs

Flat Plate Sheet Metal Weld Seamers

Designed to weld together butted weld joints of flat plate steel that are joined by using the metal seam welder with many welding processes using an automated seam welder. There are different arc seam welding processes such as TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), (SAW) Sub arc seam welders are common for half inch thick steel plate, and MIG for sheet metal joining seaming requirements. Sheet plate weld seamers are lower profile than other seamer designs. Flat plate seamers often have roller beds to move the steel plates into position for the seam welds operation process to be done correctly.

I.D. Internal Seam Welders

This style of seam welders are built to do the internal seam welding of a truck trailer tank cylinder is called an Internal Design I.D. seam welder. The seamer is designed so that the part wraps around and over and above the side beam travel car. This allows the side beam carriage internal travel of a longitudinal weld of the butted part weld joint. Most often this is a tank or vessel internal 100% penetration requirement. This is done using common arc welding processes like MIG, TIG or Submerged Arc welding machines working in concert with the sub arc seam welder. Submerged arc welding seamers are fast for unique parts using a sub arc seam welding systems.

External Seam Welders

These are the most common type of seam welders that preform seam welding on the external seam weld butt joint application. These longitudinal seam welders are used for joining the formed part with seam welding pipe, tanks, vessels, and sheet metal duct using arc seam welding procedures specific to the weld sea application. The linear seam welder for external weld seams can be customized easily for your application. Most shops that have a seam welder likely has an external seamer. Weld seamer lengths are built from 1 ft to 40 feet of seam welding length. Material handling equipment is often an option on these Internal seam welders for loading and unloading the cylindrical part.

Combination Weld Seams System

Combination seamers are a hybrid of an a external seamer and a I.D. seam welder that provides flexibility for the seam welding shop the ability to use one seam welder to do several seam welding application on the same seam welding machine system. This design of seam welder are more costly, yet still allow the productivity on one seamer rather than having several seamers taking up welding fabrication space. Seam welding fabricators often stock a combo seam welder for easy adapting the seam welder for any job that comes into the seam welding shop.
